meat (noun -  มีท) แปลว่า เนื้อสัตว์ หรือ เนื้อผลไม้ก็ได้ รวมทั้งอาจจะแปลว่าอาหารก็ได้ อย่าเช่น meat and drink ก็จะแปลว่าอาหารและน้ำ

ทีนี้ในกรณีที่มีความหมายว่าเนื้อ ก็มีตัวอย่างให้เห็นประมาณนี้ครับ
crabmeat เนื้อปู
mincemeat ก็คือเนื้อบด

อีกสำนวนหนึ่งที่มีความหมายเดียวกับคำว่า ลางเนื้อชอบลางยาก็คือ every man to his taste แปลว่าแต่ละคนก็มีรสนิยมแตกต่างกันออกไป อันนี้จะตรงข้ามกับ one size fits all ขนาดเดี่ยวใส่ได้ทุกคน

One man's meat is another man's poison has the meaning that things that is good for one people maybe bad for someone else or Something that one person likes may be distasteful to someone else.

In Thai we also have the proverb that has the same meaning as the English proverb version. This proverb is ลางเนื้อชอบลางยา (Larng Nuea Chorb Larng Yar) literally means some medicine is good for someone and might be bad for the others.
